businesses have something their distributors and customers recognise.
Building the brand and protecting the intellectual property that a business has
are vital parts of the international
business development mix.
We are pleased to
have as Guest Speakers two people who have a wealth of experience of working in
this area. Chris Parker,
Managing Director of London & Scottish International
Ltd, will tell us how as a small business he developed his brands in the highly
competitive global market that is the drinks sector. Chris has spent 48
years marketing drinks, starting at Nestle with Nescafe and Nesquick, then London
Advertising with Watneys Beers and Schweppes development brands. Beecham
took him to the Far East with Horlicks,
Lucozade and Ribena and, since 1979, he has marketed Scotch Whisky and London Dry
Gin. Today he is the owner of the world’s only
supply of Organic Spirits.
Martin
Anayi is a
solicitor from Penningtons
specializing in branding issues, and will show why intellectual property and
brands need protecting, especially in markets that are less than enthusiastic about
the rights of protecting the owners, and how to set about achieving this
protection.
